8     LONG TITLE
9     General Description:
10          This bill modifies provisions related to the Rural Coworking and Innovation Center
11     Grant Program within the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity.
12     Highlighted Provisions:
13          This bill:
14          ▸     allows nonprofit organizations to receive grants under the Rural Coworking and
15     Innovation Center Grant Program; and
16          ▸     removes private companies from the list of entities that may receive a grant under
17     the Rural Coworking and Innovation Center Grant Program.

24          63N-4-502, as enacted by Laws of Utah 2019, Chapter 467

26     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27          Section 1. Section 63N-4-502 is amended to read:
28          63N-4-502. Definitions.
29          As used in this part:

30          (1) "Advisory committee" means the Rural Online Working Hubs Grant Advisory
31     Committee created in Section 63N-4-505.
32          (2) "Coworking and innovation center" means a facility designed to provide individuals
33     with the infrastructure and equipment to participate in the online workforce.
34          (3) "Entity" means a county, city, nonprofit organization, or institution of higher
35     education[, or private company].
36          (4) "Grant" means a grant awarded as part of the Rural Coworking and Innovation
37     Center Grant Program created in Section 63N-4-503.
38          (5) "Grant program" means the Rural Coworking and Innovation Center Grant Program
39     created in Section 63N-4-503.
40          (6) "Rural area" means any area in any county in the state except Salt Lake, Utah,
41     Davis, Weber, Washington, Cache, Tooele, and Summit counties.
