FY 2016 Appropriation

The POST Administration program is responsible for the oversight and coordination of the law enforcement training services offered by the Police Officers Standards and Training line item. The investigation and adjudication of allegations of peace officers' misconduct is also a responsibility of the POST Administration.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $1,560,100 from all sources for POST Administration. This is a 3.5 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $56,300 in new approprations from the General/Education Funds.

Under section 63J-1-603 of the Utah Code, the Legislature intends that appropriations provided for The Department of Public Safety -Peace Officers' Standards and Training line item not lapse at the close of Fiscal Year 2015.
