FY 2016 Appropriation

The University Hospital provides high-quality care to over five million people in Utah and surrounding states. Many hospital programs and services have received recognition from national and international medical communities.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $4,727,400 from all sources for University Hospital. This is a 2.9 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $4,727,400 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 2.9 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.

The state appropriation provides funding for the salaries and benefits of those employees functioning in a teaching capacity at the hospital. The operational costs of the hospitals are not appropriated nor included in this budget because they are covered by patient fees and other non-State sources.
