UCA 4-23-9(2)(a) requires the Division of Wildlife Resources in its annual budget request to include a request for General Fund equal to 25% of the amount of fees and contributions deposited in the Agricultural and Wildlife Damage Prevention Account during the previous fiscal year. These funds are transferred to the Department of Agriculture and Food and are used to partially fund Agriculture's Predatory Animal Control program, which strives to minimize livestock and wildlife losses to predators on private, state and federal land.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $59,600 from all sources for Predator Control. This is a 0 percent change from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $59,600 from the General/Education Funds, a change of 0 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
