FY 2016 Appropriation

The Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands studies issues and recommends actions regarding the transfer of federally controlled public lands to the state, and it reports on and coordinates similar efforts undertaken by other governmental entities.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $2,000,000 from all sources for Commission for Stewardship of Public Lands. This is a 0 percent change from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $2,000,000 in new approprations from the General/Education Funds.

Statute

House Bill 151 enacted in the 2014 General Session established and specified duties of the Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands.

Intent Language

HB0003: Item 117

Under the terms of 63J-1-603 of the Utah Code, the Legislature intends that appropriations provided for the Commission for the Stewardship of Public Lands in Item 117, Chapter 422, Laws of Utah 2014, shall not lapse at the close of FY 2015. Expenditures of these funds are for the Commission to use at its discretion in carrying out its statutory duties: $2,000,000.
