During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $0 from all sources for Public Lands Litigation. This is a 100 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources.

UCA 67-5-29 requires the Attorney General to file certain eminent domain and quiet title actions on property possessed by the federal government.

During the 2010 General Session, the Legislature passed House Bill 324, "Public Lands Litigation." The bill appropriates money from the Land Exchange Distribution Restricted Account to the Constitutional Defense Restricted Account for legal services. Appropriations began in FY 2011 and are ongoing. Provisions of the bill directed the Attorney General to file certain eminent domain and quiet title actions on property possessed by the federal government.
