The Uintah Basin Applied Technology College (UBATC) serves Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah Counties from campuses located in Roosevelt and Vernal. Students at UBATC earned 548,314 membership hours in FY 2014, with 61 percent being post-secondary and 39 percent being secondary students. Its service region includes three school districts. UBATC offers programs in petroleum technology, health occupations, technical trades, and business and information technology.
The campus recently introduced new program certificates for the oil and gas industry including well control, safety school, and new hire and expanded CDL training. UBATC has a partnership with Utah State University (USU) to offer associate degrees in nursing. An articulation agreement with USU provides a pathway for students with 900-hour UBATC certificates to earn an Associate of Applied Science in General Technology upon completion of 33-38 additional semester credits at USU-Uintah Basin.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $7,189,600 from all sources for Uintah Basin ATC. This is a 4.7 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $6,699,600 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 5.1 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.

The Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center began operation in September 1968. Effective July 1, 1990, the name of the Center was changed by the Utah State Legislature to the Uintah Basin Applied Technology Center to more accurately reflect the purpose and philosophy of the Center. In June of 2001, House Bill 1003 was passed during a special session. It created theUtah College of Applied Technology and its regional campuses, including Uintah Basin Applied Technology College (UBATC).
