The funds come from appropriations and contributions from individuals on their income tax returns. The funds provide a competitive grant program for services such as shelter, case management, and outreach for homeless individuals.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $917,400 from all sources for GFR - Homeless Account. This is a 46.4 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $917,400 from the General/Education Funds, a reduction of 13.9 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
