The Administration program coordinates efforts across the department, provides oversight, and distributes necessary resources to accomplish all the department's programs and functions. The administrative program operates the department's Veterans Information System database, website, and technology functions. Within the administration program rests the department's financial functions. The department is the Utah repository of military discharge documents verifying military service required to receive veterans benefits.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $916,300 from all sources for Administration. This is a 35.3 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $636,900 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 58.1 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
