Informal Science Education Enhancement (iSEE) is the largest of the four programs and has six participating organizations. Emulating the Fine Arts Outreach -- POPS Program, participants have fully developed outreach programs and have built the capacity to deliver these programs statewide. Due to the statewide delivery mandate of program participants, these organizations receive an ongoing allocation of state funding to provide a stable funding base.
The program is reviewed every four years to evaluate each organization's funding level and participation in the program. Participating professional organizations include: Clark Planetarium, Discovery Gateway, The Living Planet Aquarium, Natural History Museum of Utah, Red Butte Garden, and The Leonardo.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $3,697,900 from all sources for Informal Science Education Enhancement. This is a 93.8 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $3,697,900 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 93.8 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
