The Eastern TOIP was established in January 2008 and is located within USU - Vernal and the Energy and Geosciences Institute in the University of Utah. It has a niche for energy development.
The Eastern TOIP focuses on business development in the Uintah Basin and other key energy locations in Utah. It provides business assistance services such as consulting, plan development, market/opportunity analysis, networking, product developing/testing, patent research, and presentations/connections to investor groups.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $566,500 from all sources for East. This is a 27.5 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $566,500 from the General/Education Funds, a reduction of 2.5 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
