The Autism Awareness Restricted Account is a General Fund restricted account. The account is funded by private contributions or grants from public and private entities. Upon appropriation by the Legislature, the superintendent distributes funds in the account to one or more charitable organizations that promote access to resources and responsible information for individuals of all ages who have, or are affected by, autism or related conditions.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $10,000 from all sources for Autism Awareness. This is a 0 percent change from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources.
UCA 53A-1-304: Creates the Austism Awareness Restricted Account and defines how funds may be distributed to one or more charitable organizations.
