By definition, any purchase of real property where an appropriation is requested to fund the purchase is a capital development. The Legislature uses this line item to fund acquisitions of existing real property, whereas it uses the Capital Development line item to fund construction of buildings.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $3,000,000 from all sources for Property Acquisition. This is a 25 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $3,000,000 from the General/Education Funds, a reduction of 25 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
