FY 2016 Appropriation

The Commissioner's Office is charged with the administrative management and direction of the various divisions within the department. The office provides planning, research, personnel, purchasing, budgeting and accounting.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $10,354,400 from all sources for Department Commissioner's Office. This is a 19 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $6,739,900 from the General/Education Funds, an increase of 135.6 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.

HB0003: Item 25

Under section 63J-1-603 of the Utah Code, the Legislature intends that appropriations provided for The Department of Public Safety - Programs and Operations line item not lapse at the close of Fiscal Year 2015.


SB0002: Item 18

The Legislature intends that the department is authorized to increase its fleet by the same number of new officers authorized and funded by the legislature for FY 2016
