FY 2016 Appropriation

The School Trust program represents costs associated with representing the Board of Education's interest in school trust lands, providing input on investment of the permanent State School Fund, administering the School LAND Trust program in around 1,000 public schools and around 8,000 School Community Council members, and providing information to state and national policymakers.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $650,800 from all sources for School Trust. This is a 3.7 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources.

Intent Language

HB0002: Item 4

The Legislature intends that the Utah State Board of Education use any nonlapsing balances generated from the licensing of Student Assessment of Growth and Excellence (SAGE) questions to other states to develop additional assessment questions and provide professional learning for Utah educators.
