FY 2016 Appropriation

The Materials Section is responsible for the testing and evaluation of materials in the laboratory to ensure that materials properties are adequately understood before being incorporated into construction.

Appropriation Overview

During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $4,730,400 from all sources for Materials Lab. This is a 2.8 percent increase from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources.

In addition to statewide compensation and internal service fund cost increases, the following appropriation adjustments were made during the 2015 General Session:

Intent Language

HB0003: Item 32

Under terms of Utah Code Annotated Section 63J-1-603(3)(a), the Legislature intends that appropriations provided for Engineering Services in Item 2 of Chapter 4 Laws of Utah 2014 not lapse at the close of Fiscal Year 2015. The use of any non-lapsing funds is limited to the following: Engineering Services Special Projects ($300,000).
