The DAF Administration line item currently contains the following programs: General Administration, Chemistry Laboratory, Horse Racing Commission, and Sheep Promotion.
During the 2015 General Session, the Legislature appropriated for Fiscal Year 2016, $4,175,400 from all sources for Administration. This is an 11.9 percent reduction from Fiscal Year 2015 revised estimated amounts from all sources. The total includes $2,521,500 from the General/Education Funds, a reduction of 22.2 percent from revised Fiscal Year 2015 estimates.
In addition to statewide compensation and internal service fund cost increases, the following appropriation adjustments were made during the 2015 General Session:
The Legislature reduced the number of programs in the Administration line item by making the following changes:
- Moved the Regulatory Services and the Marketing and Development programs to be separate line items (2014 General Session).
- The following programs were moved to the newly established Animal Health line item: Animal Health, Auction Market Veterinarians, Brand Inspections, and Meat Inspection (2013 General Session).
- The following programs were moved to the newly established Plant Industry line item: Environmental Quality, Grain Inspection, Grazing Improvement, Insect Infestation, and Plant Industry (2013 General Session).
